Thread Lift

$0.00

Thread lifts are a minimally invasive, less drastic alternative to surgical facelifts. This low-risk procedure tightens the skin by threading medical-grade filaments under the skin, then gently pulling them upwards to tighten the selected area.

Thread lifts work in two ways. First of all, your physician physically lifts your skin upwards with the thin, dissolvable sutures - this can be administered on the forehead, neck, or torso. Invisible and painless barbs on the threads grip onto skin to ensure skin and muscle lift smoothly and evenly.

Then, once the threads are inserted and lifted, your body’s natural healing response takes over. Your body reacts to the sutures as it would a minor injury, prompting collagen production in the affected area that will fill out sagging skin and restore youthful, plumped elasticity to the face.

While thread lifts are low-risk with minimal recovery time, patients should still be prepared for possible side effects like redness, bruising and swelling. The procedure is performed in about 45 minutes, and if necessary, patients can return to work as soon as it is completed. As with many cosmetic procedures, choosing a trained, licensed and reputable physician is key to a safe thread lift that delivers the results you want.

What is Botulinum toxin type A?Botulinum toxin type A is an injectable neurotoxin, better known under brand names such as Botox Cosmetic® and Dysport®. Neurotoxin treatments are the most popular single cosmetic procedure in the U.S. and are mainly used to smooth dynamic wrinkles, or those wrinkles that form as a result of facial movements like frowning, squinting, smiling, and other expressions we tend to make day after day. The treatment works by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles, causing them to relax. As a result, your expressions soften and the dynamic wrinkles are greatly reduced. SEPARATOR What is Botox? BOTOX® Cosmetic is a trade-name for the protein and neurotoxin Botolinum Toxin. The protein is used cosmetically as a muscle relaxing injection for the treatment of wrinkles. As we age, skin loses its elasticity, and dynamic wrinkles begin to form. Botox is the most effective skin treatment for subtly tackling the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles. It also prevents new lines forming by relaxing the facial muscles and reducing excessive facial movements. Lines and wrinkles will be smoothed out and you’ll be left with a youthful, glowing appearance. BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines — the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of the frown lines between your brows, your crow’s feet lines and your forehead lines. What is Dysport? Fight frown lines and the overdone look. Those who want a natural look choose Dysport. It’s proven to help smooth the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines. Don’t surrender to a look that’s just not you. Take charge of your frown lines by asking for Dysport by name. Instead of making you feel like your face is frozen, Dysport temporarily treats the facial muscles in just the area you want — between the eyebrows — and allows the muscles in the untreated areas of your face to move normally. Delight, surprise, shock, concern — you can still show your natural facial expressions when treating moderate to severe frown lines with Dysport. And that's certainly something to smile about. Difference between Botox and Dysport Overall Botox and Dysport are very similar. Both are a type of botulinum type A used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines and other over active muscles of the face, like forehead lines and crows feet. I tell my patients that it’s like comparing apples to apples. There’s a difference between a Fuji apple and a Gala apple, but they are still both apples. Dysport is a smaller-sized molecule so its unit measurement is different than Botox. Both have been in use for years (Dysport in Europe only until recently) and have a high safety profile, both can be used on other parts of the face and body, and both Dysport and Botox must be injected every 3-6 months.
